Provides support in the process of obtaining, verifying and assessing the qualifications of physician and allied health professionals to provide patient care services.

Three (3) years of recent*, full time** experience in a Medical Staff Services office*** at the level of the Los Angeles County class of Intermediate Clerk**** or higher.
Certification: Successful certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist issued by the National Association of Medical Staff Services will be required before final appointment.
License: A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job related functions.
WITHHOLD INFORMATION: NO WITHHOLD WILL BE ALLOWED. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE WILL NEED TO BE FULLY MET AT THE TIME OF FILING, AND CLEARLY INDICATED ON THE APPLICATION.
Physical class 2- Light:
This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
Desirable Qualifications: Additional credit will be awarded for experience beyond the Selection Requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:
**Full time experience is 40 hours per week. Part-time experience will be prorated to full-time experience.
***Definition of Medical Staff Services office is primarily accountable for the administrative and credentialing compliance structure of the medical staff organization.
****For this examination, an Intermediate Clerk performs duties that include, but are not limited to, assisting in processing paperwork, initial credentialing, re-credentialing and ensuring that the database includes detailing the practitioners' education, training, licensing, experience, and other information are accurate and up to date.

This examination will consist of an evaluation of experience based upon application information and desirable qualifications weighted 100%.
The passing score for this examination is 70%.
Eligibility and Vacancy Information: Applicants who passed the assessment(s) are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months. Applications will be processed as they are received and added to the list accordingly. We will use this list to fill vacancies in the Department of Health Services as they occur.
Available Shifts: Appointees may be required to work any shift and at any facility, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
NO PERSON MAY COMPETE IN THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS.
